Babies Shower — Tonight (Tuesday) at 5:30 pm at 1470 Summer Street. A congregational shower for our newest babies, Olivia and Daniel. All are invited to enjoy refreshments and welcome these wee ones to our church family.

Spring Cleaning — If you’ve been wondering how you can help at St. Matthew’s, perhaps spring cleaning is for you. Odd jobs, fixes around the property, waste removal – your assistance is needed! Contact Fred Donaldson, 463-7535 or fdonaldson@accesswave.ca, or the church office, 423-9209 or stmatts@ns.sympatico.ca

Get Down and Boogie — Saturday, Apr. 16 at 7:30 pm – Be entertained by the music, characters and outfits of a cabaret-style musical extravaganza celebrating the 1970s as Timbo Jones presents That 70s Show at St. Matthew’s. Admission is $10. Proceeds will support the church’s outreach programs. For information, call the church office, 423-9209.

Special Meeting, Official Board — Sunday, Apr. 17 after coffee time. All members are urged to attend this important meeting. It will not be preceded by separate meetings of the Kirk Session or Board of Stewards.

Penny Parade — One Lenten penny jar is full! Empty your piggybanks and dresser drawers and bring your pennies to church for the giant penny jar. All coins welcome. Each week there will be a collection jar at the entrance to the sanctuary for coin contributions, loose or rolled. Proceeds will go to the Benevolent Fund.

PAR Support for the Mission — The Brunswick Street Mission wants to find 200 people who will contribute $10 through the United Church’s Pre-Authorized Remittance (PAR) program to support its work. The Brunswick Street Mission provides food and clothing, and helps families in need deal with life crises, housing and employment issues, and financial management. The Mission also offers coffee, hot breakfast, and a warm welcome. PAR forms are available from Paul Bowlby, paulbowlby@eastlink.ca and at the church.
