Potluck Church Tuesday
Potluck Church is tonight (Tuesday, Apr. 17) at 5:30 pm in the sanctuary on the theme Holy Humour! Laughter is surely God's gift, so let's celebrate it with good food among friends. Bring your favourite “church humour” selection – Lord knows, there's lots to choose from.

The Great St. Matthew’s Clean-up Apr. 20–21 ...
We’re going to clean up the church this weekend – separating usable items from trash, offering things free-to-a-good-home, arranging to sell things of value, and disposing of things that remains, all in 48 hours. The clean/sort will happen Friday evening and Saturday morning; then from 1–3 pm Saturday there will be a gym sale and free-to-good-home distribution. Anything remaining will be offered to breakfast guests on Sunday morning.

Everyone is encouraged to help. If you have no time to clean up or can’t physically handle it, perhaps you can provide food for volunteers on Saturday, Apr. 21. Contact Shannon Black at shan_ben@hotmail.com if you can contribute paper plates/bowls, drinks, a pot of soup or a loaf of sandwiches. All contributions are appreciated.

... Followed by painting
Just after the spring cleaning, there will be a day of spring painting. If you can spare a few hours to do touch-up painting around the church, contact Betsy.

Thanks for Easter music ...
Thanks to Karla Bruce, soprano, and Jack Fraser, guitar, for their music on Sunday. And a special thanks to AcabellA Handbell Choir for providing the service music – this was a warm-up for their appearance at the morning worship service at United Memorial Church on Apr. 22.

Please support Runners United for Change

On the Welcome page, choose Option 2, “Sponsor a team of fundraisers”. On the Search page, enter “Matthew’s” in the team name. Donate.

‘Tis a Gift: Living with Simplicity
It is now time to move beyond contemplation. It is time to look at our lifestyle choices and decide where we need to make changes. It is time to find the path to simpler lifestyles.
Tip 10 – We have de-cluttered our closets and homes. Now it is time to remove the clutter from our lives in our places of work and other areas where we spend time. This week clear off your desks and other work areas at your office and help with cleaning up other institutions – perhaps even at your place of worship! Recycle anything that you no longer want or need.
