St. Matthew’s Calendar
Mon. Feb. 17 at 12 noon – Bible study in the parlour
Sun. Feb. 23, after church – Meetings of Session, Stewards, and the Board
Tue., Mar. 4 at 5:30 pm – Shrove Tuesday pancake supper

Winter Bible Study
Winter Bible study is held on Mondays from noon to 1 pm. The winter session is an eight-week study on the parables of Jesus, “Living the parables out loud.”

Congratulations to ...
Richard Waller (son of Lyn and Kevin, grandson of Dean and Evelyn Salsman), recipient of the Sobey Scholarship (about $20,000 annually for four years). Richard will begin study toward a Bachelor of Commerce at Queens University in the fall.

Art Show – Feb. 9–16, Bedford Place Mall (9:30 am to 9 pm daily, except Sundays noon to 5 pm). Contemporary Art Society presents paintings by local artists in different media. Information: 457-0920

Halifax Camerata Singers “Saints and Legends” – Sun. Feb. 23 at 7:30 pm, St. Patrick’s Church, 2267 Brunswick. A choral tribute to saints (e.g., Francis of Assisi, Mother Teresa, Hildegard von Bingen) and legends (e.g., JFK, Martin Luther King Jr., Nelson Mandela, Jack Layton) who walked among us but changed the world. Special guests Blue Engine Strong Quartet and pianist Lynette Wahlstrom. Tickets $25, $20 seniors, $10 students/underwaged available at the door or from Jill Rafuse in the St. Matthew’s Choir.
