FACE
TO FACE VISIT
What is Face to Face all about?
In
the past six years, nearly 20 United Church of Canada congregations
have hosted visitors from global partners as part of our church’s
Face to Face Program. These visitors have spent at least ten days
in Canadian communities, getting to know the work of the congregation
and exploring ways of being part of God’s global mission
together.
Our Face to Face visitor is Rev Lackson Chibuye. He is a 43 year
old married minister with six children (two sets of twins). He
taught in a government school for two years before going for Theological
Training in 1985.
He was ordained in 1991 and served as Lay-trainer in all the four
Presbyteries (Conferences) where he has worked as minister. He
was the first coordinator of the HIV/AIDs Project for the United
Church of Zambia in 2000 before the Council for World Mission
(CWM) Africa Region appointed him to coordinate the Training of
Trainers AIDS Project for the Region (in countries for five denominations)
for three years ending December 2003.
During his spare time he likes to cycle and has an interest
in photography and expeditions on land or sea.
